The exhibition in the Longridge Towers School Sports Hall included “Flying Our Flag”, which was the result of a year-long project involving many local schools using the colours and design of the ancient flag of Northumberland to create a variety of art and craftwork.

Other displays included panels illustrating the events that had been staged during the Golden Age of Northumbria Festival and the stories of the Northumbrian saints.

Longridge Towers School, on the outskirts of Berwick-upon-Tweed, hosted the finale event of the Golden Age of Northumbria Festival.

On 23rd and 24th October, local schools were invited to take part in a series of interactive workshops where the children were able to learn about Anglo-Saxon life, art and crafts.

The living history activities and an exhibition illustrating all the themes and projects of the Festival year was open to the public during the weekend 25th and 26th October..

Living History at Longridge Towers School
